AMS-218 Class Motor Minesweeper: Laid down 12 August 1954 as AMS-264 by the Harbor Boat Building Co., Terminal Island, CA; Reclassified as a Coastal Minesweeper, MSC-264, 7 February 1955; Launched 10 March 1956; Completed 9 November 1956 and transferred to Denmark as Vilsund (M 578); Commissioned 15 November 1956; Decommissioned 1 December 1995. Fate unknown.

Specifications: Displacement 375 t.; Length 144'; Beam 27'; Draft 8' 3"; Speed 14 kts; Complement 39; Armament two 20mm, replaced by one 40mm in 1965; Propulsion 880 shp General Motors 8-268A diesel engines, two shafts.
