MSC-275 was built for Iran

MCS-268 Class Motor Minesweeper:

  • Laid down as MSC-275 by Bellingham Shipyards Co., Bellingham, WA
  • Completed 4 September 1959 and transferred to Iran as Shahbaz (MSC 32)
  • Lost by fire in 1975.

    Specifications:

  • Displacement 375 t.
  • Length 144'
  • Beam 27'
  • Draft 8' 3"
  • Speed 14 kts.
  • Complement 39
  • Armament: One twin 20mm mount
  • Propulsion: Two General Motors diesel engines, two shafts.
