Patrol Yacht:

  • Built in 1890 as Almy by Harlan and Hollingsworth, Wilmington, DE for Frederic Gallatin
  • Acquired by the Navy 2 April 1898 and renamed Eagle
  • Commissioned USS Eagle 5 April 1898
  • Decommissioned 23 May 1919 at Portsmouth Navy Yard, Kittery, ME
  • Sold 3 January 1920 and renamed Reina Victoria
  • Believed scrapped in 1927.

  • Length 177'
  • Beam 24'
  • Draft 11' 6"
  • Speed 12 kts.
  • Complement 67
  • Armament: Two rifled 6-pounders
  • Propulsion: One triple=expansion steam engine, one shaft.
