BYMS-80 was built for Great Britain.
BYMS-1 Class Motor Minesweeper:

  • Laid down 4 November 1942 as BYMS-80 by Wheeler Shipbuilding Corp., Whitestone, NY
  • Launched 31 May 1943
  • Completed 3 August 1943 transferred to Great Britain and reclassified J-880
  • Reclassified BYMS-2080
  • Returned to U.S. custody 31 July 1946
  • Struck from the Naval Register 1 August 1947
  • Transferred to the State Department, Foreign Liquidation Commission 21 October 1947 and sold
  • Fate unknown.

  • Displacement 270 t.
  • Length 136'
  • Beam 24' 6"
  • Draft 8'
  • Speed 15 kts.
  • Complement 32
  • Armament: One 3"/50 dual purpose gun mount, two 20mm mounts and two depth charge tracks
  • Propulsion: Two 880bhp General Motors 8-268A diesel engines, Snow and Knobstedt single reduction gear, two shafts.
