YMS-1 Class Auxiliary Motor Minesweeper:

  • Laid down 16 June 1942 by J. N. Martinac Shipbuilding Co., Tacoma, WA
  • Launched 17 October 1942
  • Completed 26 February 1943
  • Transferred to the Soviet Union 19 July 1945 and reclassified T-596Assigned to the Pacific Fleet 1 August 1945
  • Placed out of service 15 April 1955 and laid up
  • Scrapped 7 October 1955.

  • Beam 24' 6"
  • Draft 8'
  • Speed 15 kts.
  • Complement 32
  • Armament: One 3"/50 dual purpose gun mount, two 20mm mounts and two depth charge projectors
