YMS-1 Class Auxiliary Motor Minesweeper:

  • Laid down 12 August 1942 by Associated Shipbuilders, Seattle, WA
  • Launched 28 November 1942
  • Completed, delivered and commissioned USS YMS-288, 19 March 1943
  • Transferred to the Soviet Union 17 August 1945 and reclassified T-600
  • Assigned to the Pacific Fleet 31 August 1945
  • Placed out of service 17 October 1955 and laid up
  • Sunk in the Sea of Japan between 28 - 30 June 1956 in agreement with the United States
  • Struck from the Naval Register 29 October 1956.
