YMS-1 Class Auxiliary Motor Minesweeper:

  • Laid down 9 June 1942 by the Seattle Ship Building and Dry Dock Co., Seattle, WA
  • Launched 24 October 1942
  • Completed 1 March 1943
  • Damaged by Japanese shore batteries 2 May 1945 north of Tarakan, Borneo
  • Film and television actor Fess Parker (Fess Elisha Parker, Jr.) best known for his portrayals of Davy Crockett in the Walt Disney 1955–1956 TV mini-series and as TV's Daniel Boone from 1964 to 1970,
    served in YMS-334 as a Seaman 1st Class; September 1945 to March 1946
  • Struck from the Navy Register 19 June 1946
  • Transferred to the State Department, Foreign Liquidation Commission 26 March 1947; sold to Thailand and named HTMS Bangkeo
  • Fate unknown.
