YMS-1 Class Auxiliary Motor Minesweeper: Laid down 8 March 1943 as YMS-344 by the Bellingham Marine Railway and Boat Building Co., Bellingham, WA; Launched 4 June 1943; Reclassified as a District Degaussing Vessel, YDG-6, 12 August 1943; Seriously damaged in typhoon Louise 9 October 1945 at Okinawa. Fate unknown.
Specifications: Displacement 270 t.; Length 136'; Beam 24' 6"; Draft 8'; Speed 15 kts; Complement 32; Armament two 20mm mounts; Propulsion two 1,800shp General Motors 8-268A diesel engines, Snow and Knobstedt single reduction gear, two shafts.
