YMS-1 Class Auxiliary Motor Minesweeper:

  • Laid down 21 May 1943 by the Greenport Basin and Construction Co., Greenport, NY
  • Launched 17 July 1943
  • Completed 30 October 1943 and commissioned USS YMS-381
  • Transferred to Norway 22 March 1945 reclassified NYMS-381 and later named Begna (M 322)
  • Returned to U.S. custody 7 June 1948; transferred to the State Department, Foreign Liquidation Commission and sold to Norway the same day
  • Struck from the Naval Register 12 August 1948
  • Struck from the Norwegian Navy list in 1966
  • Fate unknown.

  • Speed 15 kts.

  • Armament: One 3"/50 dual purpose gun mount, two 20mm mounts, and two depth charge projectors
