PCS-1448 served the Navies of the United States and South Korea.
YMS-1 Class Auxiliary Motor Minesweeper: Laid down 30 April 1943 as Patrol Craft Sweeper, PCS-1448 by the San Diego Marine Construction Co., San Diego, CA; Reclassified as an Auxiliary Motor Minesweeper, YMS-476, 7 October 1943; Launched 14 June 1944; Reclassified back to PCS-1448, 23 June 1944; Completed 21 November 1944 and commissioned PCS-1448. Her last station was at long dock in San Diego working with the West Coast Sonar School. Decommissioned at Vallejo, CA in 1950; Transferred to Korea 9 June 1952 as Hwaseong (PCS 205). Fate unknown.
Specifications: Displacement 270 t.; Length 136'; Beam 24' 6"; Draft 8'; Speed 15 kts; Complement 32; Armament one single 3"/50 gun mount, two 20mm, and two dcp; Propulsion General Motors diesel engines, two shafts.
