PC-554 served the Navies of the United States and Brazil.

PC-461 Class Submarine Chaser: Laid down, 20 December 1941 by the Sullivan Dry Dock and Repair Co., Brooklyn, NY; Launched, 1 May 1942; Commissioned USS PC-554, 15 September 1942; Decommissioned and transferred to Brazil 29 October 1943 as Goiana (CS 6); Reclassified G-4; Struck from the Navy Register and transferred permanent ownership to Brazil 19 April 1950; Decommissioned in Brazilian Navy, 13 October 1951; Scrapped in 1952.

Specifications: Displacement 295 t.(lt) , 450 t.(fl); Length 170'; Beam 23'; Draft 10' 10"; Speed 20.2 kts.; Complement 65; Armament one 3"/50 dual purpose gun mount, one single 40mm gun mount; three 20mm guns, two rocket launchers, four depth charge projectiles, two depth charge tracks; Propulsion two 2,880bhp General Motors 16-258S diesel engines (Serial No. 6345 and 6346), Farrel-Birmingham single reduction gear, two shafts.
