PC-607 served the Navies of the United States and Brazil.

PC-461 Class Submarine Chaser:

  • Laid down 1 July 1942 by the Luders Marine Construction Co., Stamford, CT
  • Launched 11 February 1943
  • Commissioned USS PC-607, 27 August 1943
  • Decommissioned 19 October 1943, transferred to Brazil and named Guajarį (CS 5)
  • Reclassified G-5 after World War II
  • Decommissioned 18 September 1959
  • Fate unknown.

  • Length 173' 8"
  • Beam 23'
  • Draft 10' 10"
  • Speed 20.2 kts.
  • Complement 65
  • Armament: One 3"/50 dual purpose gun mount, one 40mm gun mount, two 20mm guns, two Mousetrap depth charge projectors, four K-gun depth charge projectors, and two depth charge tracks
  • Propulsion: Two 1,440bhp General Motors 16-258S diesel engines (Serial No. 10878 and 10879), Farrel-Birmingham single reduction gear, two shafts.
