PC-461 Class Submarine Chaser:

  • Laid down 31 December 1942 by the Commercial Iron Works, Portland, OR
  • Launched 6 February 1943
  • Commissioned USS PC-786, 30 October 1943
  • Identified as surplus to the Navy's needs in December 1948
  • Decommissioned 19 May 1954, transferred to the Republic of China and reclassified PC-108
  • Struck from the Navy Register 1 January 1969
  • Fate unknown.

  • Armament: One 3"/50 dual purpose gun mount, one 40mm gun mount, five 20mm guns, two rocket launchers, and two depth charge tracks
  • Propulsion: Two 1,440bhp Hooven-Owen-Rentschler R-99DA diesel engines (Serial No. 7053 and 7054), Westinghouse single reduction gear, two shafts.
