Winnemucca served the Navies of the United States and South Korea.
PC-461 Class Submarine Chaser:

  • Laid down 2 June 1943 at Defoe Shipbuilding Co., Bay City, Michigan
  • Launched 27 October 1943
  • Commissioned USS PC-1145, 1 June 1944 at New Orleans, LA
  • Decommissioned 15 February 1946 at Astoria, Oregon and laid up in the Pacific Reserve Fleet, Columbia River Group
  • Named Winnemucca 15 February 1956
  • Struck from the Navy Register 1 June 1960
  • Transferred to South Korea 1 November 1960
  • Fate unknown.

  • Length 173' 8"
  • Beam 23'
  • Draft 10' 10"
  • Speed 20.2 kts.
  • Complement 65
  • Armament: One 3"/50 dual purpose gun mount, one 40mm gun mount, three 20mm guns, two depth charge projectors (hedgehog), four depth charge projectors (K-guns), and two depth charge tracks
  • Propulsion: Two 1,440bhp General Motors 16-278A diesel engines, Farrel-Birmingham single reduction gear, two shafts.
