PC-461 Class Submarine Chaser:

  • Laid down 30 October 1943 by the Consolidated Shipbuilding Corp., Morris Heights, New York
  • Launched 19 December 1943
  • Commissioned USS PC-1265, 12 May 1944
  • PC-1265 was assigned to the Eastern and Caribbean Sea Frontiers, and the Canadian Coastal Zones during World War II
  • Decommissioned 20 March 1946
  • Struck from the Naval Register 1 May 1946
  • Transferred to the War Shipping Administration 3 December 1946 and sold
  • Named Yucatan
  • Purchased in 1948 by an under cover, underground Jewish organization and scheduled for delivery to the Israeli Navy, which was at that time in its infancy
  • Turned over officially on 31 September 1948 to the Israeli Navy
  • Commissioned INS Nogah (K 26) in October 1948
  • Decommissioned in 1952
  • Sunk as a target off the coast of Israel.
