PC-1619 was built for Italy.

PC-1610 Class Submarine Chaser/Albatros Class Corvette:

  • Laid down in 1954 as PC-1619 at Castellamare, Italy using "offshore" funds
  • Delivered 1 June 1955 and commissioned Albatros (F 543)
  • Laid up 30 April 1986
  • Struck from the Navy list in 1989
  • Fate unknown.

    Specifications:

  • Displacement 895 t.
  • Length 250' 3"
  • Beam 31' 5"
  • Draft 9' 1"
  • Speed 20 kts.
  • Armament: Two 76/62mm type SMP 3 mounts (replaced in 1962 with two 40/70mm mounts), one 40/70mm mount and two Mk 11 hedgehogs
  • Propulsion: Diesel engines, two shafts.
