  • Laid down 21 October 1942 by the Electric Boat Co., Elco Works, Bayonne, NJ
  • Launched 5 January 1943
  • Completed 19 January 1943
  • Placed in service 20 January 1943 and assigned to Motor Torpedo Boat Squadron ELEVEN (MTBRon 11) under the command of Lt. Comdr. Leroy T. Taylor, USN
  • MTBRon 11, assigned to the South Pacific, had action at Rendova, Vella Lavella, Bougainville, and Emirau
  • Damaged by Japanese aircraft 10 October 1943 north of Vella Lavella
  • Transferred to the Southwest Pacific in June 1944, the squadron had action at Morotai, in the Halmaheras. It also based for a time at Mios Woendi, Dutch New Guinea, but had no action from that base
  • The "Pom Pom Express", ex-"Pom Pom Girl", ex-"Black Cat", ex-"Idiot's Delight", ex-"Slow Freight", ex-"Betty Lou" was placed out of service, stripped and destroyed 11 November 1945 at
    Samar, Philippines.
