80' Elco Motor Torpedo Boat:

  • Laid down 2 November 1942 by the Electric Boat Co., Elco Works, Bayonne, NJ
  • Launched 15 January 1943
  • Completed 2 February 1943, placed in service and assigned to Motor Torpedo Boat Squadron ELEVEN (MTBRon 11) under the command of Lt. Comdr. Leroy T. Taylor, USN
  • MTBRon 11, assigned to the South Pacific, had action at Rendova, Vella Lavella, Bougainville, and Emirau
  • Damaged 21 August 1943 by strafing Japanese floatplane, northwest of Turovilu Islamd, Solomons
  • Damaged by Japanese aircraft 14 October 1943 off Choiseul Bay, Solomons
  • Transferred to the Southwest Pacific in June 1944, the squadron had action at Morotai, in the Halmaheras. It also based for a time at Mios Woendi, Dutch New Guinea, but had no action from that base
  • "The Little Woman", ex-"Dew Dropper" was placed out of service 11 November 1945, stripped and destroyed by U.S. Forces at Samar, Philippines.
