80' Elco Motor Torpedo Boat:

  • Laid down 28 April 1944 by the Electric Boat Co., Elco Works, Bayonne, NJ
  • Launched 20 September 1944
  • Completed 8 December 1944, placed in service and assigned to Motor Torpedo Boat Squadron THIRTY EIGHT (MTBRon 38) under the command of LCDR Charles A. Mills, Jr., USNR
  • MTBRon 38, assigned to the Southwest Pacific, arrived at Samar, Philippines, in May, June, and July, 1945. The squadron based there and at Basilan Island, Philippines, but had no action except for strafing of shore installations in
    Borneo early in August 1945
  • The "Dirty Dozen" was placed out of service 24 October 1945
  • Transferred to the State Department, Foreign Liquidation Commission in May 1946 and sold
  • Fate unknown.
