PCS-1376 Class Patrol Craft Sweeper: Laid down 25 February 1943 by the Wheeler Shipbuilding Corp., Whitestone, Long Island, NY; Launched 4 February 1944; Delivered in March 1944; Commissioned 6 March 1944. PCS-1379 participated in the Invasion of Peleliu and Angaur Islands, of the Palau Group 15 - 17 September 1944; Shelled Japanese targets on Eil Malk and Abappaomogan Islands, of the Palau Group 30 - 31 October 1944; Participated in the invasion of the Ryukyu Islands as follows: Kerama Retto 26 - 31 March 1945, Okinawa 1 April 1945, Menna Shima 15 April 1945, and Ie Shima 16 April 1945.
Fate unknown.
Specifications: Displacement 245 t.(lt) 340 t.(fl); Length 136'; Beam 24' 6"; Draft 8' 7"; Speed 14.1k; Complement 59; Armament one 3"/50 dual purpose gun mount, one 40mm mount, two 20mm gun mounts, four depth charge projectors, one depth charge projector (hedgehog), two depth charge tracks; Propulsion two 800bhp General Motors 8-268A diesel engines, Snow and Knobstedt single reduction gear, two shafts.
