Poughkeepsie served the Navies of the United States, the Soviet Union and Japan.
Tacoma Class Patrol Frigate: (MC Type T. S2-S2-AQ1) Originally authorized as Patrol Gunboat, PG-134; Redesignated a Patrol Frigate, PF-26, 15 April 1943; Laid down 3 June 1943 under a Maritime Commission contract by the Walter Butler Shipbuilding Co., Superior, Wisc.; Launched 12 August 1943; Commissioned USS Poughkeepsie (PF-26), 6 September 1944; Decommissioned 1 October 1945 at Cold Harbor, Alaska; Transferred under the Lend Lease Program to the Soviet Union as EK-25, 2 October 1945; Returned to U.S. custody 31 October 1949 at Yokosuka, Japan; Laid up in the Pacific Reserve Fleet, Yokosuka; Transferred on loan to Japan 14 January 1953 as Momi (PF 284); Struck from the Navy Register 1 December 1961; Transferred outright to Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force, 28 August 1962; Decommissioned by Japan, 1 April 1965; Reclassified as an Auxiliary Stock Vessel, YAC-13, 31 March 1965; Discontinued use 31 March 1970; Returned to U.S. custody 12 July 1971; Transferred to South Korea for cannibalization.
