Hutchinson served the Navies of the United States and Mexico.
Tacoma Class Patrol Frigate: (MC Type T. S2-S2-AQ1) Originally authorized as Patrol Gunboat, PG-153; Reclassified as a Patrol Frigate, PF-45, 15 April 1943; Laid down under a Maritime Commission contract by the Consolidated Steel Corp, Ltd., Los Angeles, CA.; Launched 27 August 1943; Commissioned USS Hutchinson (PF-45), 3 February 1944; Decommissioned 15 April 1946, loaned to the Coast Guard and commissioned USCGC Hutchinson (PF 45) the same day; Decommissioning 27 September 1946 at Seattle, WA; Struck from the Navy Register 29 October 1946; Sold to Mexico 24 November 1947 as ARM California; Scrapped in June 1964.
Specifications: Displacement 1,430 t.; Length, 303' 11"(oa); Bean 37' 6"; Draft 13' 8"; Speed 20kts; Complement 190; Armament three 3"/50 dual purpose gun mounts (aft gun removed and a weather balloon hanger was added), four twin 40mm gun mounts, nine 20mm guns, one Hedgehog depth charge projector; eight Y-gun depth charge projectors, two depth charge racks; Propulsion two 3-drum express boilers, two 5,500ihp vertical triple expansion J. Hendy Iron Works engines, two shafts.
