Busbee served the Navies of the United States, the Soviet Union and Columbia.
Tacoma Class Patrol Frigate: (MC Type T. S2-S2-AQ1) Originally authorized as Patrol Gunboat, PG-154; Reclassified as a Patrol Frigate, PF-46, 15 April 1943; Laid down by the Consolidated Steel Co., Ltd., Los Angeles, CA; Launched 7 September 1943; Commissioned USS Bisbee (PF-46), 15 February 1944; Decommissioned 26 August 1945 at Cold Harbor, Alaska; Transferred 17 August 1945 to the USSR as EK-17 under the Lend-Lease Program; Returned to U.S. custody 1 November 1949 at Yokosuka Navy Yard, Yokosuka, Japan; Recommissioned 18 October 1950; Decommissioned 20 October 1951; Transferred to Columbia 13 February 1953 under the Mutual Defense Assistance Program as Capitan Tono. Fate unknown.
Specifications: Displacement 1,430 t.; Length, 303' 11"; Bean 37' 6"; Draft 13' 8"; Speed 20.3 kts.; Complement 190; Armament three 3"/50 dual purpose gun mounts, two twin 40mm gun mounts , nine 20mm guns, one Hedgehog depth charge projector, eight Y-gun depth charge projectors, two depth charge racks; Propulsion two 240psi 3-drum express boilers, two 5,500ihp verticle triple expansion J. Hendy Iron Works engines, two shafts.
