Sheboygan served the Navies of the United States and Belgium.
Tacoma Class Patrol Frigate: (MC Type T. S2-S2-AQ1) Originally authorized as Patrol Gunboat, PG-165; Redesignated a Patrol Frigate, PF-57, 15 April 1943; Laid down 17 April 1943 under a Maritime Commission contract, at Globe Shipbuilding Co., Superior, Wisc.; Commissioned USS Sheboygan (PF-57), 26 May 1944 at New Orleans, LA; Decommissioned 14 March 1946 at Charleston, SC and recommissioned USCGC Sheboygan (PF 57) the same day; Decommissioned 9 August 1946 and returned to U.S. Navy custody; Transferred to the State Department Liquidation Commission; Sold to Belgium 19 March 1947 as Lieutenant der zee Victor Billet (F 910); Struck from the Belgium Navy Register in 1957; Turned into a stationary training hulk in 1958; Scrapped
in 1959.
Specifications: Displacement 1,430 t.; Length, 303' 11"(oa); Bean 37' 6"; Draft 13' 8"; Speed 20.3 kts.; Complement 190; Armament two 3"/50 dual purpose gun mounts, two twin 40mm gun mounts , nine 20mm guns, one Hedgehog depth charge projector; eight Y-gun depth charge projectors, two depth charge racks; Propulsion two 3-drum express boilers, two 5,500 iHP Valley Iron Works engines, two shafts.
