British Flower Class Corvette: Laid down 6 November 1942 as PG-109 for the U.S. Navy at Canadian Vickers, Ltd., Montreal, Canada; Launched, 30 April 1943; Assigned to the Royal Navy under the Lend-Lease Program; Transferred to the Royal Navy 31 August 1943 and commissioned HMS Parret (K-304); Returned to U.S. Navy custody, 5 February 1946; Reclassified PG-109; Transferred 5 May 1948 to the Maritime Commission for disposal; Scrapped.
Specifications: Displacement 1370 t; Length 301.25'; Beam 36.5'; Draft 13'; Speed 20 kts; Complement 107; Armament two 4"/40 mounts, ten 20mm guns, two dct, and one hedgehog dcp; Propulsion two Admiralty 3-drum express boilers, one 5,500ihp reciprocating vertical triple expansion engine, one shaft.
