PGM-47 Class Motor Gunboat/Daphne Class Seaward Defense Craft:

  • Laid down 1 September 1962 as PGM-50 at Naval Dock Yard Holmen, Copenhagen, Denmark under the Danish-American Cost Sharing Program
  • Launched 29 May 1963
  • Commissioned Neptun (P 536), 18 December 1963
  • Decommissioned 30 October 1989
  • Struck from the Naval Register in 1992
  • Fate unknown.

  • Displacement 195.4 t.
  • Length 121.3'
  • Beam 22.1'
  • Draft 7'
  • Speed 22.33 kts.
    6.58 kts. on Foden diesel engine and one shaft
  • Complement 23
  • Armament: One Mk 48 - 40mm mount, two 7.62mm machine guns, two depth charge projectors,two depth charge launchers, six side releasing mines and one 51mm rocket launcher
    Removed rocket launcher in 1986/1987 and replaced by one 20mm mount
  • Propulsion: Two 900hp Maybach MD655/18 diesel engines, two shafts
    After 1970 added one 115hp FD6 Foden diesel engine and one shaft for cruising.
