PGM-111


PGM-111 was built for Peru

PGM-71 Class Motor Gunboat:

  • Laid down as PGM-111 by Servicios Industriales de la Marina S.A., Callao, Peru
  • Commissioned BAP Rio Chira (PC 12), 30 June 1972
  • Transfered to the Peruvian Coast Guard in 1975 and reclassified PM-223
  • Decommissioned in 1994
  • Recommissioned in 1997 after overhaul of main engines
  • Fate unknown.

    Specifications:

  • Displacement 118 t.
  • Length 101'
  • Beam 21'
  • Draft 6' 8"
  • Speed 17 kts.
  • Complement 17
  • Armament: One 40mm mount, two twin 20mm mounts and two .50 cal. machine guns
  • Propulsion: Two 1,100hp Mercedes Benz 12V493 diesel engines, two shafts.
