Eagre served the U. S. Geodetic Survey and the Navy

Patrol Yacht:

  • Built in 1875 as Mohawk by Van Dusen, Williamsburg, NY
  • Acquired by the Coast and Geodetic Survey in 1878 and renamed USC&GS Eagre
  • Transferred 31 July 1903 to the Navy
  • Struck from the Navy list 10 September 1910 and sold
  • Fate unknown.

    Specifications:

  • Length 140'
  • Beam 30.3'
  • Draft 7' 5"
  • Propulsion: Twenty thousand square foot of sail.
