Patrol Yacht: Built 1926 as the yacht Firenza by Krupp Iron Works, Kiel, Germany; Acquired by the Navy, 16 March 1942; Commissioned USS Girasol
(PY 27), 19 May 1942; Decommissioned, 20 January 1946 at Mare Island Navy Yard, Vallejo, CA; Struck from the Navy Register 20 February 1946; Transferred to the Maritime Commission, 14 July 1947 for disposal. Fate unknown.

Specifications: Displacement 700 t.; Length 170'; Beam 27' 1.5" ; Draft 10' 10" ; Speed 12 kts; Complement 55; Armament one 3"/50 dual purpose mount; Propulsion two 493shp Krupp 471 diesel engines, 493shp, two shafts.
