SC-1 Class Submarine Chaser: Built in 1918 by the New York Navy Yard, Brooklyn, NY; Commissioned 6 May 1918; Burned by a gasoline explosion 2 May 1919 at Charleston, SC; Material removed, hull not salvaged; Struck from the Naval list, (date unknown).
Specifications: Displacement 85 t; Length 110"; Beam 14' 8.75"; Max Draft (fl) 5' 8"; Speed 18kts; Armament one single 3"/23 gun mount, two .30-cal machine guns, one dcp "Y Gun"; Complement 2 Officers, 25 Enlisted; Endurance 1000nm @ 12 kts; Propulsion, three 660 hp Standard gasoline engines, three shafts.
