SC-1 Class Submarine Chaser: Laid down by the International Shipbuilding and Marine Engine Co., Upper Nyack, NY; Launched, (date unknown); Commissioned SC-187 in late April/early May 1918; Sunk in a collision 4 August 1918 with the Norwegian Steamship Capto off the coast of Virginia, 11 miles northeast of Cape Charles Light vessel.
Specifications: Displacement 85 t; Length 110"; Beam 14' 9"; Max Draft (fl) 5' 8"; Speed 18kts; Armament one single 3"/23 gun mount, two .30 cal. machine guns, one dcp "Y Gun"; Complement 26; Endurance 1000nm @ 12 kts; Propulsion, three Standard 660bhp gasoline engines, three shafts.
