SC-1 Class Submarine Chaser:

  • Laid down by the Camden Anchor-Rockland Machine Co., Camden, ME
  • Commissioned USS SC-407, 16 January 1919
  • Grounded twice while assigned to Naval Radio Station Otter Cliffs, Bar Harbor, ME
  • Following her second grounding she was towed to Boston by Chewink (Minesweeper No. 39), where she was found to be to badly damaged to repair
  • Sold 21 April 1920 to the Tamarack Co. of Pawtucket, RI
  • Registered in 1927 to Dr. Joel E. Goldthwait of Boston, MA as the yacht North Star
  • Registered in 1931 to Larence Schivilla of Boston as the fishing boat North Star
  • Registered in 1933 to Henry H. Bloom of Dorchester, MA as the freighter North Star and in 1935 as the Cod fishing boat North Star
  • Fate unknown.
