SC-1 Class Submarine Chaser:

  • Built as SC-435 by Alexander McDonald, Mariners Harbor, Staten Island, NY
  • Never commissioned
  • Transferred to the Coast Guard 21 October 1919 and commissioned USCGC Johansson (CGSC 435)
  • Named for Machinist 1/c Hans Ivar Johanson, USCG a member of the torpedoed USCGC Tampa, lost during World War I
  • Loaned to the Prohibition Commissioner in March 1922
  • Sold 27 December 1922
  • Registered in 1931 to Merton P. Hutchins of Waltham, MA as the Cod fishing boat Waltham II
  • Fate unknown.
