  • Laid down 3 September 1941 by the Quincy Adams Yacht Yard, Quincy, MA
  • Launched 27 April 1942
  • Commissioned USS PC-629, 14 May 1942
  • Reclassified SC-629 in April 1943
  • Reclassified as a Control Submarine Chaser, SCC-629, 20 August 1945
  • Decommissioned 6 February 1946
  • Struck from the Naval Register 12 March 1946
  • Transferred to the Maritime Commission 8 March 1949
  • Acquired in 1952 by Frank Hale of Redondo Beach, CA for use as a passenger barge and named Buccaneer
  • Acquired in 1954 by the Redondo Sport Fishing Co. of Redondo Beach
  • Acquired in 1958 by the Baitco Co. of Malibu, CA
  • Acquired in 1961 by Baitall, Inc. of Manhattan Beach, CA
  • Acquired in 1967 by Kissel Construction of Malibu
  • Foundered during a storm 27 December 1972 at Sea Cove, San Clemente Island, CA.

  • Draft 6' 6"
  • Speed 15.6 kts.

  • Armament: One 40mm mount, two .50 cal. machine guns, two depth charge projector "Y Guns," and two depth charge tracks
