SC-1075 served the Navies of the United States and the Soviet Union

SC-497 Class Submarine Chaser:

  • Originally planned as PC-1075
  • Reclassified SC-1075 in April 1943
  • Laid down 11 May 1943 by the Mathis Yacht Bldg. Co., Camden, NJ (renamed John Trumpy and Sons)
  • Launched 27 July 1943
  • Commissioned USS SC-1075, 11 August 1943
  • Transferred to the Soviet Union 24 September 1943 and reclassified BO-208
  • Placed in service 7 October 1943
  • Assigned 29 February 1944 to Polyarny, Murmansk
  • Reassigned 21 May 1944 to Yeysk
  • Entered the Black Sea Fleet 15 July 1944
  • Returned to U.S. custody 4 August 1954
  • Struck from the Naval Register in June 1956 and scrapped.

    Specifications:

  • Displacement 148 t.
  • Length 110' 10"
  • Beam 17'
  • Draft 6' 6"
  • Speed 21 kts.
  • Complement 28
  • Armament: One 40mm gun mount, three 20mm mounts, two depth charge projector "K Gun," 10 depth charges remote control side-droping single release chocks, and two sets Mk 20 Mousetrap rails with
    four 7.2 projectiles
  • Propulsion: Two 1,540bhp General Motors (Electro-Motive Div.) 16-184A diesel engines, two shafts.
