SC-497 Class Submarine Chaser:

  • Laid down 9 September 1942 as PC-1351 by the Vinyard Boat Building Co., Milford, DE
  • Launched 11 March 1943
  • Reclassified and commissioned USS SC-1351, 30 April 1943
  • Struck from the Naval Register 21 January 1946
  • Sold to Honduras 9 September 1946
  • Sold to the Dominican Republic in 1947 and named Sanchez (GC 101)
  • Renamed 30 De Marzo in January 1962
  • Placed out of service in the late 1960s
  • Fate unknown.

  • Propulsion: Two 800bhp General Motors 8-268A diesel engines, Snow and Knobstedt single reduction gear, two shafts.
