PC-1496 served the Navies of the United States and the Soviet Union.
SC-497 Class Submarine Chaser: Laid down 5 June 1943 by the Vinyard Boat Building Co., Milford, DE; Launched 1 December 1943; Commissioned USS SC-1496, 14 April 1944; Transferred to the Soviet Union 20 May 1944 as BO-215. Fate unknown.
Specifications: Displacement 95 t; Length 110' 10"; Beam 17'; Draft 6' 6"; Speed 21 kts.; Complement 28; Armament one 40mm gun mount, three 20mm mounts, one or two twin mount .50 cal. machine guns, two or three dcp "K Guns", 14 depth charges with six single release chocks, two sets Mk 20 Mousetrap rails with four 7.2 projectiles; Propulsion two 880bhp General Motors 8-268A diesel engines, Snow and Knobstedt single reduction gear, two shafts.
