SC-1631 built for The Netherlands.

SC-1627 Class Submarine Chaser:

  • Built under Off Shore Procurement under the terms of the Military Defense Assistance Pact. Built to a Netherlands design, but similar to American SCs in characteristics but different in appearance
  • Laid down 21 July 1954 by the Rijkswerf Willemsoord, Den Helder, The Netherlands
  • Launched 1 December 1954
  • Completed 23 March 1955 and named HNLMS Hefring (P 806)
  • Struck in 1985
  • Fate unknown.

    Specifications:

  • Displacement 169 t.
  • Length 119'
  • Beam 20'
  • Draft 6.2'
  • Speed 15.5 kts.
  • Complement 27
  • Armament: One 40mm mount, three 20mm mounts, one mousetrap depth charge projector, two depth charge tracks and two k-gun depth chrage projectors
  • Propulsion: Two 650hp Werkspoor diesel engines, two shafts.
