Zipalong (SP 3)


Motorboat; Built in 1907 as Gansetta by George Lawley and Sons Corp., Neponset, MA; Renamed Zipalong; Acquired by the Navy in the spring of 1917; Commissioned USS Zipalong (SP 3), 13 June 1917; Decommissioned 27 November 1917 at Philadelphia, PA; Returned to her owners in 1918. Fate unknown.

Specifications: Displacement 30 t.; Length 78'; Beam 11' 2"; Draft 4'; Speed 15 kts.; Complement eight; Armament one machine gun.
