Siwash (SP 12)


Siwash served both the U. S. Navy and the Department of Commerce

Motorboat:

  • Built in 1916 by the Gas Engine and Power Co., Morris Heights, NY
  • Acquired by the Navy 10 June 1917
  • Delivered 10 June 1917
  • Commissioned 18 August 1917
  • Decommissioned 10 May 1919
  • Transferred to the Department of Commerce 16 June 1919
  • Fate unknown.

  • Length 78'
  • Beam 14' 9"
  • Draft 4' 1"
  • Speed 13 kts.
  • Complement 15
  • Armament: One 1-pounder and one machine gun
  • Propulsion: Two 100hp 6-cylinder Speedway gasoline engines, two shafts.
