Motorboat:

  • Built in 1906 by Smith and Mabely, Astoria, NY
  • Acquired by the Navy 12 May 1917
  • Commissioned Simplicity (SP 96), 7 June 1917
  • Struck and crushed by barge No. 78, 19 October 1918 alongside an Army dock at Fort Wadsworth, NY
  • Decommissioned 31 December 1918.

    Specifications:

  • Displacement 21 t.
  • Length 58' 9"
  • Beam 10' 6"
  • Draft 3' 6"
  • Speed 14 kts.
  • Complement: Seven
  • Armament: One 1-pounder and one machine gun.
