ex-USS Howarda (SP 144)

Howards served both the U. S. Navy and Coast Guard.

Yacht: Built in 1913 by the Essington Company of Pennsylvania; Acquired by the Navy 11 June 1917; Commissioned USS Howarda (SP 144), 19 June 1917 at Key West, FL; Struck from the Navy list 31 March 1919; Transferred to the Coast Guard 1 July 1919 and commissioned USCGC Vidette. Fate unknown.

Specifications: Displacement 38 t.; Length 75'; Beam 16'; Draft 3' 4"; Speed 9 kts.; Complement unknown; Armament one 3-pounder.
