Jeannette (SP 149)


Jeannette served both the U. S. Navy and Marine Corps

Tug Boat:

  • The second Jeannette was built in 1905 by B. C. Huffstetler, Miami, FL
  • Acquired by the Navy 11 May 1917
  • Commissioned USS Jeannette (SP 149), 14 May 1917
  • Decommissioned 7 February 1919 and transferred to the Marine Corps
  • Sold 16 January 1920
  • Registered in 1933 to F. W. Ford of Georgetown, SC as the towboat Jeannette
  • Registered in 1948 to the Georgetown Towing Co. of Georgetown as the towboat Jeannette
  • Fate unknown.
