Wasaka III (SP 342)

  • Built in 1912 as Octalee VI by Britt Brothers, Lynn, MA for Mr. Edmund H. Tarbell of Boston, Massachusetts
  • Sold winter of 1912/1913 to Ingersell Amory, of Boston and renamed Cheechako
  • Acquired in 1917 John J. Martin of Boston and Marblehead, Massachusetts renamed Wasaka III
  • Acquired by the Navy 17 April 1917
  • Commissioned USS Wasaka III (SP 342), 23 April 1917
  • Returned to her owner 18 April 1919
  • Acquired in 1930 by Augusts M. Summers of Weymouth, Massachusetts
  • Sold in 1935 to Elmer R. Blenis of Weymouth
  • Sold in 1939 to Warren B. Nott, of Braintree, Massachusetts
  • Acquired in 1974 by David L. Higgs
  • Fate unknown.

  • Length 53'
  • Beam 10' 10"
  • Draft 3' 10"
  • Speed 9 kts.
  • Complement: Six
  • Armament: One 1-pounder and one Colt machine gun
  • Propulsion: One 35hp 4-cylinder Murray and Tregurtha gasoline engine, one shaft
    Replaced in 1935 by one 110hp 8-cylinder Lycoming gasoline engine.
