ex-USS Jessamine (SP 438)

Jassamine served both the Navy and Coast Guard.

Patrol Yacht:

  • Built in 1907 by J. M. Bayles and Son, Port Jefferson, NY
  • Commissioned USS Jessamine (SP 438), 14 June 1917
  • Delivered to the Navy 2 July 1917
  • Renamed SP-438 in 1918
  • Transferred to the Coast Guard 2 December 1919 and commissioned USCGC Javelin
  • Sold 31 July 1922
  • Dropped from the Coast Guard Register in 1923
  • Fate unknown.

  • Length 90' 3"
  • Beam 14' 6"
  • Draft 4' 9"
  • Speed 13 kts.
  • Complement 13
  • Propulsion: Two 60hp 4-cylinder Craig gasoline engines, two shafts.
