Audwin (SP 451)


Audwin served both the U. S. Navy and the Coast & Geodetic Survey.

Motor Boat: Built in 1911 by the New York Yacht, Launch and Engine Co., Morris Heights, NY; Acquired by the Navy 30 June 1917; Commissioned 5 November 1917; Decommissioned and struck from the Navy list 27 March 1919 and transferred to the Coast and Geodetic Survey the same day. Fate unknown.

Specifications: Displacement 12.5 t.; Length 60'; Beam 12' 6"; Draft 3' 6"; Speed 10 mph; Complement nine; Armament one 1-pounder and one machine gun.
