  • The second Alpha was built in 1911 by the Narragansett Bay Yacht Yard, Riverside, RI
  • Acquired by the Navy 19 May 1917 and commissioned the same day
  • Decommissioned in 1919
  • Struck from the Navy list 17 May 1919
  • Sold 28 August 1919 to Mr. Arthur Palmer, Quincy, MA
  • Fate unknown.

    Specifications:

  • Displacement 10 t.
  • Length 56'
  • Beam 9' 6"
  • Draft 2' 11"
  • Speed 11.3 kts.
  • Complement: Seven
  • Propulsion: One 37hp 4-cylinder Standard gasoline engine, one shaft.
