Motorboat:

  • Built in 1911 by the New York Yacht, Launch and Engine Co., Morris Heights, NY
  • Acquired by the Navy 11 June 1917
  • Commissioned Lexington II (SP 705), 23 July 1917 at Camden, NJ
  • Renamed SP-705 in 1918
  • Decommissioned 21 November 1918 at Philadelphia, PA and returned to her owner
  • Aabandoned in 1954 at Riverside, NJ.

    Specifications:

  • Displacement 21 t.
  • Length 65' 4"
  • Beam 11' 8"
  • Draft 4' 6"
  • Speed 13 kts.
  • Complement 10
  • Armament: One 1-pounder and one .30 cal. machine gun
  • Propulsion: Two 45hp 4-cylinder Twentieth Century gasoline engines, two shafts.
