  • The first Albacore was built in 1900 by Howard Brothers, San Diego, CA
  • Commissioned 17 May 1917
  • Delivered to the Navy 10 July 1917
  • Returned to her owner, Bryant H. Howard, San Diego 6 January 1919
  • Fate unknown.

    Specifications:

  • Displacement 14 t.
  • Length 50' 8"
  • Beam 9' 6"
  • Draft 4' 10"
  • Speed 7 kts.
  • Complement: Seven
  • Armament: One 1-pounder and one machine gun
  • Propulsion: One 45hp 4-cylinder Howard gasoline engine, one shaft.
