Motorboat:

  • Built in 1906 by the Electric Launch Co., Bayonne, NJ
  • Acquired by the Navy in July 1917 from the Department of Commerce
  • Commissioned USS Dixie (SP 789), 31 July 1917
  • Renamed SP-789, 11 April 1918 to avoid confusion with the Destroyer Tender Dixie
  • Returned to the Department of Commerce 21 June 1921
  • Fate unknown.

  • Length 93'
  • Beam 14'
  • Draft 4' 1"
  • Speed 15 kts.
  • Complement 28
  • Propulsion: One 300hp 6-cylinder Standard gasoline engine, one shaft.
